Rochester Hills Retailers Raise Funds to Support Families Facing Cancer

The Woodhouse 5K for New Day, held on July 26th in Rochester Municipal park, had a record number of attendees this year and generated more than $28K (net) for families facing cancer in our community.  Woodhouse Spa in Rochester Hills has partnered with [www.foundationforfamilies.org]New Day Foundation for Families to host the event since 2020. Dana Martin of Woodhouse Spa presented the check to New Day staff last week outside the spa, located in the Village of Rochester Hills.

Great Lakes ACE hardware stores grew their Round-Up at the Register campaign from nine stores in 2024 to 22 participating stores across the state this year. Rochester store manager John Williamson and Detroit store manager Malissa Michajlyszyn presented the New Day staff with a check for $12,609 last week from ACE’s two-week in-store campaign last month.

New Day Foundation for Families is the only nonprofit in Michigan providing both financial assistance and emotional support to families navigating any type of cancer, anywhere in the state. New Day pays critical living expenses directly to creditors to cover housing, utilities, transportation, groceries and other essential household expenses, while also providing emotional support to cancer patients and their family members. Hospitals and cancer centers statewide rely on New Day to support families suffering a significant loss of income due to a cancer diagnosis.
