Rochester Hills Rolls Out Art on Auburn 2

Encourages Local Artists to Share their Community Pride

Rochester Hills, MI - Following the success of the Art on Auburn Program, the City of Rochester Hills and the Paint Creek Center for the Arts (PCCA) have announced the launch of a second round of featured art pieces in the Brooklands neighborhood. In celebration of the City’s 40th birthday, artists are invited to express their love for the city through their artwork, answering the question: "Why do you  Rochester Hills?"

Artists of all levels are encouraged to participate in this community-wide initiative. Submissions are open to anyone that loves Rochester Hills and must reflect their admiration for the city. Additionally, artists are asked to have their artwork fit within a circular frame, maintaining the original Art on Auburn's shape, using a maximum of five specified colors.

“We’re always excited about the opportunity to bring art to our community. I can’t think of a better way to do that than partnering with Rochester Hills for another round of Art on Auburn,” states Shaun Hayes, Executive Director of the PCCA. “The first Art on Auburn project was a huge success, and we expect a great deal of enthusiasm to see this return.”

Each artist may submit up to two designs, with only one eligible for placement. The submission portal is now open and will close on May 10, 2024. Following the submission period, a jury of artists and community representatives will evaluate entries. Up to 50 outstanding artworks will then proceed to online community voting.

“Art on Auburn was incredibly popular with students the first time we launched this program, and thanks to their efforts we now have 25 beautiful pieces that are on display all year long,” states Mayor Bryan K. Barnett. “We are excited to open this program up to local artists of all ages and highlight local talent in this extraordinary way.”
