The Harmony in the Hills Concert Series Presents Musica Batteria Marimba Duo
Musica Batteria, the marimba duo comprised of Lynn Koch and Kristen Tait, will kick off the Harmony in the Hills Summer Concert Series in the St. Paul's United Methodist Church's Garden of Hope. The outdoor performance will take place rain or shine on Wednesday, June 11 at 7pm. The church is located at 620 Romeo Street, Rochester, MI. In the event of inclement weather, the concert will be held inside the Sanctuary. Admission is FREE, but donations are gratefully accepted. Bring a lawn chair and enjoy a relaxing musical evening.
The Duo performs on a vintage, 6-foot-long rosewood marimba. The combination of a varied repertoire with both players performing on one instrument is musically and visually dynamic. The music ranges from favorite classic selections, pops, ragtime and jazz to traditional Latin tunes - offering something for every musical taste. As educators, Koch and Tait connect with their audiences by relating the history of the marimba and the literature they are performing. A Musica Batteria performance is a unique musical and cultural experience.
The Harmony in the Hills Concert Series is offered by St. Paul's United Methodist Church and features the finest local and international talent in classical, jazz and gospel music. Concerts are held throughout the year on various days and at different times to allow more patrons the opportunity to attend. Ticket costs are nominal and sometimes a free with a donation. Harmony in the Hills is under the artistic direction of Director of Music Dr. Seung Hee Cho.
